Manly Men and Wild Women Hike the Hills

It's a new year and a new you.

Time once again to test your mettle by participating in the... 15th Annual Manly Men & Wild Women Hike the Hills

There's nothing complicated about it. Just show up at Tandy Hills Natural Area on New Years Day at 10 AM. Our goal is to hike border-to-border-to-border-to-border, tracing the approximate perimeter of the 225+ acre natural area. The entire route will be clearly marked with pink ribbons from start to finish. Your rewards include but are not restricted to:

  1. You will lose at least 2 pounds. (They don't call it Tandy HILLS for nothing!)

  2. See sections of the park known only to a few hawks and crows.

  3. Celebrate the 64th anniversary of the coolest open space in Fort Worth.

  4. It won't kill you but will make you stronger (for an upcoming Prairie Posse)

  5. Gain a greater appreciation for this national treasure

Has it really been 15 years? It’s time once again to gear up for the 15th annual, Manly Men Wild Women New Years Day Hike. The hike was originally envisioned as a way to increase public awareness of Tandy Hills as a pushback to the fracking industry that was eyeing our beloved natural area.

This year will be a group hike with an official start time of 10 AM on Monday, January 1, 2024. The trail will be marked in PINK ribbons. The hike starts at the same place as always, just north of the playground off the main trail. Look for the MMWW sign on your left just past the trees.

Be prepared with water, sturdy shoes/boots and dress for the weather. All ages welcome. Leashed dogs are welcome. Certificates of Completion will be awarded to all who complete the hike. If you hike separate from the group, send us a photo of yourself at a scenic spot of your choosing. Be sure to include your name/address and send it to: information@tandyhills.org
